Although they did not know it at the time, the first step of Oscar Magnuson Spectacles was taken already in 1992. As teenagers Oscar and Patrik became friends through a common passion for the creative arts. Between then and the actual start of the brand, they followed different paths in the design world. Oscar spend some years in Italy, mastering his product design skills. There he had his first work experience in the eyewear industry. During the same time Patrik started his journey becoming an art director within the advertising industry.

Both keen on applying their earned skills on something of their own, founded Oscar Magnuson Spectacles 2006 in Stockholm. Creating a eyewear brand served as a perfect vehicle for their interests in fashion, product design and craftsmanship.

Contemporary art, design, fashion and music are all influential on Oscar Magnuson’s expression. ”My style of design is an ever evolving result of the impressions in my surroundings and of the many years of experience as a designer” He says.

The OM collection is defined by its expressive yet pure and balanced design and subtle palette of monochrome colours. All frames, made from eco-friendly acetate, are handmade by highly skilled craftspeople who carry out the many stages of the production in our German and in our Italian factory.
